Amazing new drum construction producing a totally suspended drum shell that is only in contact with the drum skins. The equal tension skins can be 'matched' to produce any tone combination. 12 lug tensioning, adjusted from one end only, provides very precise tuning. This drum is fitted with our unique, and very robust, throw lever that comprises twin functions for 'throw' and snare wire tension. Various shell designs and finishes available including single ply, segmented, stave and laminated.

TESTIMONIAL

Gratefully I‘ve had the opportunity to play in front of crowds from 10 to 10,000 all over the world and have made appearances on a number of published recordings. It had taken 12 years, a keen ear, and number of different setups to find my sound. I was at the point where I believed nothing about my setup should change for where the music was at.

I was contacted by Flint Percussion asking if I would like to try out one of their snares. I’d only recently purchased the snare that I thought was the one, but after they explained this unique drum construction, I was keen to find out more, and we arranged to meet. After discussing what qualities I would like from the drum, and after being shown the unique design with a truly free floating one piece shell, I was excited to try one out.

We decided on a 14x7” steambent solid Walnut shell. When the snare was finished it was like my birthday had arrived early. I put a thick 2 ply coated head with a control dot on the top, and a thin clear resonant head on the bottom. The snare was quick and precise to tune and proved to be demon! The drum was powerful yet controllable with the bottom end really filling out as you hit the drum harder, this drum is applicable to so many styles/situations.

This truly is the best snare I have ever played, the thick top head lowers overtones and allows the great sound of the wood to cut through, the solid shell provides the most pleasing snare sound you will ever want to hear, I wouldn't use anything else now, and doubt I ever will.
